Simply put, here’s who I am: I’m a girl who loves sunshine but not without the rain, photography, writing, play time, family (including the dogs), and all of my dear friends. I’m 20 years old and I go to Judson University studying “general art” and “media studies: writing.”
As far as Africa is concerned, I’m here because I’ve had a burning passion and draw to Africa. Since I was a Sophomore in High school I worked with and fundraised for African-based organizations like “Blood: Water Missions” and “Invisible Children.” Before the end of the semester I also get to go to visit the child I sponsor in Kenya through “Compassion International.” I’m simply here by faith; I don’t know why I’m here but I know it’s an experience I’ll never forget. As God reveals reasons why I’m here I also know that I will never know how much this place will impact me.
Thank you all so much for your support! I am more than grateful and blessed to have every one of you in my life
Kaia … just a very quick note. I’ve just now accessed this site and find it delightful. We’re having company from Monte (pastor and his wife who are in Phoenix area until Thurs) and have tons yet to do before the arrive for my pot roast dinner. I cancelled my am tennis and afternoon bridge — being retired, every moment of each day is filled in with something exciting)
Reading about Africa brings back wonderful memories when Grmpa and I were there for 5 weeks in Jan 1971. It does impact your life. You will be a blessing to all you meet.
Take care, ‘n God Bless. more later. love you. grma J

(I am in the states right now) If you think you would be able to spare sometime and work with us for an afternoon, email me at lizforkin@gmail.com and we can talk more.
Thanks so much!!!
